Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm glad to hear that you find the monitor responsive, Galvin.
I'm waiting for my monitor right now, I've asked for one with an updated firmware version and I've been told this is going to take one or two weeks, I'll report back when I have it.
I have pretty much decided that I'm going to return my Filco (brown switches), in part because of the one (somewhat) faulty switch and in part because I think I'll be better off with the black switches. I seem to type very "hard" and always bottom out, which is what gave me the impression that...
Yes, I went to the geekhack forums and I was told to try blowing air into the switch. I don't have any compressed air, so I just blew into it. This worked, but the problem seems to come back after a short while, so I'm going to try compressed air.
Just want to ask again before I RMA my Filco. One of the keys do not activate unless I press down with a little more force. I can press the entire key down in a normal fashion, but it will not activate until I press down even more. Can I fix this somehow or am I out of luck?
I guess I'm going to have to send my Filco back anyways, the Alt key is not responding very well, it needs to be pushed down pretty hard to activate. I can even push the key all the way down and it won't activate until I press down harder.
Anyone encounter this before? I thought mechanical...
Alright, thank you for your advice, I do have the ability to check out the black switch at a place nearby so I'll just go ahead and do that before I look at sending my Filco back.
Anyone else that has tested the brown switch and found it to be way too light? Is it really that difficult to type up a longer text using the black switch? I've asked if I can return my brown switch Filco, I tried it for maybe three hours, found it to be loud and too light. Should I give it more...
So I just connected my Filco, it has brown switches. My first impression is that they're too light and that I should've gone for the black switches. Anyone have the same reaction? I don't see how anyone would possibly grow tired typing long texts on the brown switches, is the black really that...
Right, so I'm about to buy this monitor so I contacted the retailer I had in mind for the purchase. They claim to have been in contact with Planar, and that Planar told them that the problem isn't related to "screen tearing", but that there's a segment on the top of the screen, the top 5mm...
Thanks for the input.
I'm starting to understand that it is impossible to find a single Lightning card in Europe.
I'm thinking EVGA reference cards, or Gigabyte's custom cooler 580's. Maybe Twin Frozr II cards? Any suggestions?
Thank you for your input, TechSoldier.
My friend is not very interested in the Z68 chipset and I know that there are no differences. He's going to have a dedicated SSD, so there's no need for the caching technology. My only concern is that EVGA has tweaked their Z68 FTW...
Thank you for this thread. I'm interested in picking up a Planar SA2311W in a few weeks and I contacted Planar (embeddedsupport@planar.com). I live in Europe, so I don't want to pick up a monitor that doesn't have the new firmware fix. I was given the contact details of the European reseller and...
