I have the same model.
And sometimes reference is good because I can go Alphacool Eiswolf 2 AIO - 360mm RX 7900XTX Reference with Backplate which is what I plan to do.
I have a sapphire reference model 7900XTX and was testing the RE4 demo today and I was hitting 2.7+ Ghz in that everything at stock just +15% power limit.
I generally avoid netgear products due to them being very slow to do firmware updates.
And now that I think about it Asus does offer some models with 10 Gbps port.
Asus RT-AX89X
If the connection goes out are you able to do a factory reboot on the device and walk her through the setup over the phone.
That would be very painful on pfsense box with someone that is non technical.
I agree with you.
Since he most likely has that modem plugged into a 1Gbps port.
So the next question is what speed test are you running where it shows 1.2Gbps speed is it an internal speed test where the modem is bypassing the port speed?
My Fiber ISP does something similar there modem sync...

And who are you to determine what is a waste of time for someone else?
Why does it even matter if its not your own time. These post may be beneficial to others if not for you I wouldn't worry about it :)
When running default settings yes, however when overclocking and tuning memory these applications are needed for checking stability. I learned a fair abit about tweaking RTT settings from this thread alone so well worth it to me for the knowledge.
