Setting up SSD caching on my Z68

Just chiming in to say that I'm on a 500 GB rotating drive and a 60 GB SSD cache drive and the difference was amazing. I actually expected to try it out and be sorely disappointed, and then use the 60 GB drive for the OS, but I'm happy with it as it stands. Like someone said before, with...

    Anyone using SuperCache5 + X79?

Is there any difference between supercache and fancycache? I used the fancycache demo and it seemed to glitch things up occasionally so I stopped using it, but I love the concept.

    i5 2500k z68x-UD3H-B3 Overclocking Review/Questions

What bios are you running? I was also having problems with using the 'dynamic' voltage setting where you use the auto voltage tables and apply an offset. I was running bios F9 and would get random shut downs (not BSODs, the whole system would just shut down like there was a hole in the...

Warning on 6950 power cord instructions

It just means that all of the current drawn by the video card is now going through half of the wiring. Can you tell what AWG size the wiring is for your one pci-e power cable? Running essentially half of the wiring could generate a decent voltage drop, which could make the graphics card...

    capacitor question lg246

Without knowing anything about the circuit, I can't say for sure. On voltage, you're correct: you can replace with a part that's rated for a higher voltage, but not a lower one. On capacitance, you're making an assumption that may or may not be true: that the capacitance can be increased...

Best Graphics Card using a 520w psu for BF3 and Skyrim?

From this forum (ignore the thread title): http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1619991&page=3 The first post on that page is where it begins I believe. Now, I don't have any firsthand experience doing this. But people are posting in that thread indicating that although they can't...

    i5 2500k Overclock question.

Yeah, I have to run 1.38 on my 2600k for stability at 4.5. But there's always luck of the draw and my mobo isn't the nicest anyways, so there's always variables at play there. If you are really only at 1.3, that's pretty awesome.

Best Graphics Card using a 520w psu for BF3 and Skyrim?

You'll be pushing the limits of that 520w supply, but I *think* you can do it. A q6600 @ 3 ghz will be alright, though not the best. You will be CPU bottlenecked, however you should still be able to play the game on very high settings in 1080p if you're running a 6970. I've heard the dirt3...

    Overclocking HD 6950

Is AMD making their new drivers harder to O/C with or something? I'm running a reference 6950 with unlocked shaders. I recently formatted my comp and my old method of using Asus smartdoctor to up the CCC limits wouldn't work right. As soon as the comp rebooted the CCC limits were back to...

What Is The BEST Gaming Case 100$ - 200$ ?

I have to agree with the RV02 suggestion. It's fairly conservative in appearance, but for an aircooling case it's hard to beat IMHO. (says the guy running an RV02, of course)

Do you have weird electrical problems from your PC?

A legitamite way of fixing it would be: a) run thicker wire through the walls, safely allowing a higher amperage breaker on that run b) use a different run to power your computer/vacuum (most of the time as simple as plugging the vacuum into the plug in another room) Do NOT just replace the...

Bad Black Ops peformance with i7, GTX 480

CPU intensive? Running a core 2 quad here and the game plays butter smooth on max graphics. I haven't noticed a single bit of lag. Running a 6970, and running at 3.7 GHz core. CPU usage sits around 40% during gameplay. Hell, starcraft II sits around 55%.
