Honestly if you can get yourself a S-IPS Dell 2007WFP they are bloody amazing. I must have tried and/or inspected a dozen monitors before I decided on this one.. And it is amazing, no deal pixels, sharp as hell, no light leakage. The only thing I would say negatively about it is the viewing...
This is an image from Half-Life 2:Episode 1. It's the title screen and it shows off the issue I'm having with my monitor.
Just to let you know this is DVI, Desktop Mode, Brightness set to "30".
Is it supposed to have this banding on the sky and the smoke? The effect is a little more...
Buy now and you probally will get an A02. I can't promise but that's what I received (and the monitor is new not refurbished). Otherwise probally an A03.
Ohhh it's supposed to be consistent eh? My panel is S-IPS and I love it, but when I looked at that image I thought "Wait are they supposed to all look the same?!? I don't see any difference.". Lol.
You DEFINITELY need a replacement. That NEC is like.. $600-700 here in Canada.. I would expect the absolute perfect monitor for that price.
I would have gotten the NEC if I had the money. But I grabbed the Dell 2007WFP for $380 instead (massive price difference haha), and I'm very very...
I'll explain as best as I can.. You see LCD is "different" from CRT. Have you noticed that CRT's computer monitor's always say "Max Resolution:"? Yet LCD's say "Native Resolution:".
The reason that is, is because on an LCD there is a set number of pixels on the screen. When you have a DELL...
I seem to have misplaced my S-Video cables for the Gamecube. Still looking though.
But until then I do tend to agree with everyone else.. It's not going to look very good. You know, the same goes with HDTV's. Xbox (at 480p), PS2, Gamecube, Wii do not look very good when you put them on a...
Hmm strange... What does the flickering look like exactly??? Can you explain it a bit more? I mean I'm pretty sure whatever it is I'm not getting it but.. It's still easier to check if I know.
And what are your settings? Brightness? Desktop mode (or otherwise)? DVI or VGA? ect ect.
*Edit...
What kind of panel does your 2007WFP (or have you not investigated that yet?). Mine's a REVA02 and I've never noticed any flickering. Dark colours (including black) and rich and deep, and I don't see anything flicking.
I'm actually about to test my Gamecube with the S-Video on the Dell 2007WFP (which is 480i but superior video quality to Composite).
I'll let you know how it goes. But I don't expect the quality to be "that" good. I'm going to test a few different games. Metroid Prime 2 (Which is 16:9...
Personally I haven't used this monitor, but I've heard nothing but good things about it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116375
I would also recommend the LG L204WT 20" 5ms Widescreen monitor. I actually did own it although I returned it (it does have excellent...
It can be a gimmic and it can also be legit.
For example.. The Samsung 931C is a total gimmic.. 6-bit TN panel monitor with 97% colour gamut.. When you view a picture of a human being on it they look orange. So obviously it's garbage.
Definitely. Works great from what I've used so far. Granted don't expect it to handle lower resolutions as well as a CRT, or to play at 800x600 and expect great visuals lol. But it's far and beyond almost every other LCD on the market.
