    2005 or 2405...?

I have both these monitors and there are BOTH excellent. The 20" is plenty big enough. The 2405 is better of course but not by much, really as the are both so fine. One thing, the 2005 has a better viewing angle (minor issue) but it's blacks are not as good (but contrast is fantastic)...

Is it worth switching to an NVidia card for Purevideo?

Gaming has nothing to do with his question. His question was about HDTV. PureVideo is not linked as you describe. You might want to look at the link before you comment.

Is it worth switching to an NVidia card for Purevideo?

I researched this a little. Try this link first: http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html I have the 6600GT. Comparing the cpu utilization running a HDTV ts (mpeg-2) file with a ATI X300. The Ati uses about 45% of the cpu. The NVidia uses about 15%. So it works. My...

Unofficial 2405FPW Thread (Now that its been announced)

I just got one of these recently. I was going to get one of those 'dead pixel' tests. But then I thought, what's the point? I mean, why would I need to find something I can't see? I look closely at the monitor whith a white/black background and if i can't see it "it ain't broke"...

    Can anti-glare be removed?

My opinion (FWIW) is that this whole glossy thing is a gimmick. Just another gimmik to sell screens and a big step backwords. I remember when antiglare ( a fantastic innovation) first became available for CRT's. Before that, I was getting substantial eye strain both form glare and from...

    2005FPW or 2405FPW

Well if you do the math it has the vertical resolution of a 17" (not the physical height-the pixel hieght, or resolution). It's off by about 2 pixels. A 19" is off by about 8 or 9 pixels. If you put a 17" side by side windows scroll evenly across (a very slight error at the bottom). If you...

    2005FPW or 2405FPW

Yes but the 2005fpw has the vertical real estate of a 17". The 2405fpw a 20". But the problem remains no matter how many 2005's you line up in a row. Granted the multiple monitor setup is really great for certain multiple app needs. But for general usage the vertical limitation is noticable...

    wow 37" at 8ms

It's fantastic (at 66LBS) But the price is really good. It's just a matter of time before we have a 110 pages thread for one like this (probably a DELL) ;)

hmm should i get 2405 or keep my 2x2005fpws

Hard to say the sell price. Could be $350 each. Maybe you could sell them as a duo act and play it up that way. People will buy anything. ( I know I will ;)

hmm should i get 2405 or keep my 2x2005fpws

It would be best to buy the 2405 first and then decide after a test run.(you have 20 days) dual 2005's is a very nice setup. I'm running a 1704fpv and a 2005fpw (almost the same setup as yours -they line up perfectly with height and dot-pitch, and it's a very good arrangment There are a...

    SN25P's Heatsink Compounds (Soft Pak)

There are two methods I know of and are just a matter of prefference as the pros differ on this; including AMD and the Arctic Silver folks. 1: the small dab in the center: The idea here is that this prevents bubbles from forming and also creates a circular contact area of approx 80% of CPU...
