    Sorry to revive an old thread but I upgraded my memory and I did end up going to 24 gigs. Detecting all 24 gigs at 1600 stable for the past couple weeks so yes it can be done. Oh ya and I still have my i7 920 stable overclocked to 4GHz. Thanks!

    Actually yes I should clarify my earlier post. The 64GB version of the 830 is a fantastic drive when compared with other 64GB drives however you can get a significant performance boost by jumping up to the 128GB version. So my recommendation is also to get the 128GB drive if you can manage it.

    I think the 64gig version takes a bit of a performance dive so I wouldn't get that personally but the 128 should be pretty good, or 256 even better if you can muster it.
