This only would affect you if your price checking is external software. Is it external software from Chrome? Or is it a Chrome extension? This does not affect extensions.

Because you need to set it up. You have to whitelist apps and thought to go into it. You probably have a dozen apps, games that make changes in your user directory alone.
That tech is already in play, chipped credit cards for example. Countless form factors for that tech already out there. Can even have it embedded in your body like the tags they put into dogs.
