I guess it's hard to read everything when there are so many forums to read these days. :p
I'm not sure on the warranty, but I'm not that bothered by it. I don't plan on putting more HDs in my case since the hot-swap dock basically takes care of all the expandability I need.
I'll probably...
If you read through the entire discussion on the Creative forums, you begin to see that Creative has the means for releasing proper drivers for Vista, yet management purposely withholds the technology so they can profit from people buying future Creative soundcards that are actually compatible...
Ah, I see, re-reading what you have written I think you misunderstood my setup.
I have a dock that is installed INSIDE my case, which allows me to hot-swap SATA drives directly into my case. It front-loads from the front of my case, so it is a very convenient and cheap solution to having a...
Thanks for the recommendations. My primary OS drive is not in the swappable dock (that wouldn't make much sense to swap the primary OS drive out while in operation). The primary OS drive is the 200GB one connected via IDE.
I also don't think it is heat related anymore, because even when no...

I've got the blue Zalman mounted on my ASUS A8N SLI-Deluxe. It's a bit of a pain to install, but it works quite well. On my last build, I immediately replaced my northbridge fan with the fanless Zalman to help cut down on case noise.
One other thing -- my mid-sized ATX case is a bit cramped...
Alright, apparently the AHCI format is proprietary to intel chips, and the ASUS A8N has an nForce4 chip on it. It uses a different protocol.
All I had to do was update my nForce4 chipset drivers and my SATA drives now show up in the task menu hardware removal utility.
It's a SATA dock that has been installed into a 5.25" drive bay in my case, and is directly connected to my motherboard.
Thanks you for that -- I'll take a look around for AHCI drivers.
BTW, my motherboard is an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
I just got myself a hot swap dock for SATA drives, and I'm wondering if there are any precautions I should take before swapping out the drive live? I'm a bit skeptical about doing so, and don't want to fry my board or my drive, lose buffered data, or corrupt the data I just transferred to it...
You are quite lucky! I waited in line at Yodobashi but not dice. They did a horrible job of managing the PS3 and Wii releases, IMO.
I had to shell out the big bucks at auction, hence the reason why I need to sell at a loss. :(
After an investment plan went awry due to poor timing and an illness, I am trying to give people an opportunity to pick up a PS3 before Christmas at a reasonable price.
I am going to be selling my four PS3's at a loss. The four units were purchased right when the PS3 came out and I had...
Let me ask this: would getting a new router that can interface with an optical modem possibly do the trick? I am curious as to why my Linksys router can't directly connect to the fiberoptic modem.
No good. I tried it before and the direct ip doesn't work.
Additionally, a few quirks I've noticed now that I've had the connection a couple days:
* I can't connect to my smtp mail address, so I am unable to send mail using my usual e-mail client.
* Often times, websites will report...
