Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My 8ms VP191b is still running great @ 75 hz, no burn-in or dead pixels. I may upgrade my monitor in a year but this near-color-perfect monitor is staying with me until it dies.
19" Viewsonic VP191b (left), 17" NEC MultiSync 1760V (right) with the ugly stand removed (now held up by a duct tape roll).
The black Logitech desktop USB mic is sort of hidden under the left corner of the VP191b.
Speakers: Swan M200, held up my Jenga blocks
The third LCD (off): Samsung e635...
Despite my addiction for widescreen, my 4:3 media and 16:9 media watching is about half/half. I don't mind black bars on the VP191b because the black level is so good.
I went straight from a Radeon 9800 standard to a 7800GTX - the difference in framerates and quality is amazing for a few days, but it certainly doesn't make games any more fun. I run at 4x FSAA/16x AF on a 1280x1024 LCD, and everything is running 50-75 fps. Anything in RTHDRIBL gets 35-45 fps as...
I was trying to remove the heatsink from the K8 mounting bracket on the XP-90 and killed the mounting bracket pretty easily with a screwdriver. Jab-tech has them but I probably have to wait til Monday to get my replacement. Just a note for those that attempt to install it: Don't push the bracket...
All of the brands use the same reference design. The only differences are clock speeds, game bundles, warranties, and support. The % differences in clock speed from the reference design closely correspond to the % increase in frames per second. If you overclock manually and your card breaks, you...
If you get 8 of these you'll have an 80ft cable for $20. I don't know about data deterioration at long lengths, it probably depends on the device and the watts used.
I went with eVGA because BFG was out of stock everywhere. If BFG can't deliver enough cards, I can't buy their stuff. Hopefully my eVGA won't break right after 2 years, but by that time it'll be a mid-range card.
There's some model numbers listed in this article: Sony's XBrite LCD Technology Comes To Desktop Monitors.
I used a vaio for a day and couldn't stand the screen because it reflected everything behind me and acted like a mirror. The extra color saturation wasn't worth it.
