Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
one of my RAM modules was bad. Not sure why I didn't try one at a time earlier. The lesson I learned is don't let the memory test and the BIOS fool you.
Spent 45 minutes on the phone with ASUS tech last night. He doesn't think the motherboard is a problem. Thinks is some type of windows/driver related issue. Not sure why I wouldn't be able to do a fresh install on a new SSD.
Today I went to Fry's and bought 2 new sticks of RAM (Corsair...

I disconnected the Samsung SSD and plugged in a brand new Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD.
I started the windows install DVD, however the DVD still gets locked up at the same spot -- runs through the loading files status bar, then locks on a black screen with white "starting...

OK I discovered that my motherboard has a utility disc that is bootable.
I used the command line
c:\> chkdsk

Hi all,
I had several crash/BSOD episodes this morning, mostly while attempting to play DOTA2. No new hardware installs, and only new software updates were probably Windows updates. Everything was working fine yesterday. Until today, I've had no problems with my mITX system since building it...
I think i fixed the issue.
I already had the radiator mounted with the tubing facing the side of the case.
I loosened the screws on the fan/radiator mount and placed the graphics card in. This allowed me to push the radiator over just about 1mm within the mounting holes. It is still...
Got all my parts for new build in fractal node 304. Having a slight issue with GFX card clearance against Kraken x40.
I had checked online for builds with kraken x40 in this case and found some people stating the graphics card barely fits (a few on Overclock.net). I installed the motherboard...
Thanks everyone for your input.
Sounds like the EVO SSD is the way to go.
I will be adding more drives to this system later on.
I thought about going lower wattage on the power supply (possibly even the fanless sea sonic platinum 400w) but I wanted some flexibility in the system as I may...
Long time reader and first time poster.
Let me preface this with my experience.
I've only done one build (ATX) back around 2001 or 2002 with a pentium 4 northwood. My box finally crapped out before I moved to manhattan about 9 months ago. I've been working solely on my mid-2011 Macbook Air and...
