From what I have read about, the 780G is a dam fine board, unless you want LPCM over the HDMI, then you'll need to go with a g35. One other thing to consider is the new 8200/8300's that are supposed to be coming out soon. There supposed to fully support LPCM over the HDMI, so it might be worth...

Yea, I'm going to have to weigh my options. Right now I don't have a receiver, I'm just trying to future proof my HTPC, cause once I get out of my apartment and into a house then I'll spend some money on a nice sound system.
