Great choice with the 2490. I bought mine about a month ago. My first one had some issues but NEC advanced shipped me a new one at no cost to me. Great customer service. You should not need a new video card unless your gaming. -

Need calibration help for NEC 2490
OK. Official update: I just got my replacement in. 0 dead pixels and the least backlight bleed I have seen in an LCD! No strange color casts in blacks. NEC advanced shipped me my replacement and paid for shipping both ways. Result: I am very, very happy with NEC :D THANKS... -

'slight' problems with my new nec 2490 ..
Here is what mine looks like. Sent NEC a picture and they said it was a faulty monitor. It is getting replaced. (moderate overexposure) The browish area in the bottom right corner measures 7200k and the bluish area in bottom left corner measures 5200k. The effect is plainly visible... -

'slight' problems with my new nec 2490 ..
My 2490 is getting replaced as it is not only backlight bleeding, but is actually bleeding different color temperatures. Thus some of my blacks have a brown tint and others have a blue tint. It makes workng on grayscale very obnoxious. -

Yea, I reset everything manually. Figured maybe Snowdog was referring to a reset all button that might be different than manually resetting.
