Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
How are people dealing with using component sources?
I have a Wii and a cable STB, and although the STB works fine with a component->HDMI converter from monoprice, the Wii looks nasty through it, and even managed to cause the monitor to "lock up" (hard power down required). The converter also...
I can't tell you what page it was on, but I seem to remember someone talking about the sub par analog connection on this panel in terms of needing to tweak positioning etc.
I endorse this statement 100%.
Even though my set top box does not work with it (although a 40$ component to HDMI then an adapter to DVI works well), and I need to add even more hardware to use my Wii with it, there's no way I could go to a lesser panel.
Do you have links for this? Do you work somewhere that gives you privileged information?
Because otherwise, you look like someone pushing a scare tactic through a second account for reasons unknown.
I'm tempted to return my 263n as I come up on the 30 day grace period at Amazon.
It doesn't work with my Motorola DCT-3412 STB, which does not appear to afflict just me. I purchased a component to HDMI converter which works, but I have to let the STB scale 480i signals, which leaves ugly...
Perhaps they put those connections on their "multimedia" monitors.
The 2408 has those connectors, but these days 20" monitors are considered "simple" desktop displays.
Has anyone talked to DS, or otherwise found information on the problem with set top boxes?
Kind of tired of watching via svideo or firewire.
I e-mailed them a week or two ago and got no response. I keep meaning to call them, but seem to forget until they have been closed for a few minutes.
Is there a place to find out reliable information on the "standard timing table" for the DS?
I am hacking away trying to figure out why this is not working with my STB, and before I go flashing my EDID and breaking it, it would be good to know I have reliable source info.
Get the serial number (a mixture of numbers and letters, but not the express service tag), and then log onto their support site, and click on the warranty options. It's pretty easy to navigate.
EDIT: oops, forgot to refresh while posting.
I forgot to check on my 2408 when I had it, but it...
More cons:
6) does not work with a number of Motorola set top boxes (DCT3412, for example)
7) has issues waking up from sleep for some
8) small amount of back light bleed in the upper right corner
9) OSD "joystick" kind of sucks, although it is not often used
Even with these...
