Using binaural beats to cure depression and all that other stuff is pure pseudo-science. There is no real evidence that you can change the frequency of your brain waves with them, let alone any evidence that it would be helpful if you could change frequency with them.

I think I'm able to play GRID at 1440x900, that would be the same aspect ratio as your usual 1680 x 1050, should look better than 1280x1024 which is a different aspect ratio.
Edit: I went back and checked. My monitor's native resolution is also 1680x1050 and Grid was indeeed offering that as...
So i ended up going with a 6000+, 2 more gigs of ram, and a 9600gso. Total cost was around $270.
It's a very nice speedup and I can play crysis and other intensive games, but I wish I could turn up the detail just a little more. Do you think adding a second 9600gso would do it? Or am I...
I could do this (from newegg):
2x512mb corsair for $30
athlon x2 5200+ for $77 (cheaper than 5000+ right now)
asus 9600 gso for $110
That would be around $220 total.
edit: although that would be 2gig ram total, my laptop has 2gig and i still sometimes run out. Maybe I should try for...
Read through Nvidia's website and looks like I can only do sli with the same model card. So then the question is, should I get another 7600gt (looks like they run about $90-100) and run it in sli with my current card. Or should I just replace the current card with a single faster card (like...
I want to modernize my computer a bit, definitely get a dual core in there, but I haven't been keeping up with hardware trends as much as I used to so I need some advice. I use it mainly for work so it needs some compute power, but I also plays games (very infrequently recently because of work...
I had a somewhat similar problem and it ended up being an overheating motherboard chipset that was passively cooled. I put a fan on it and it seems to be fixed.
I replaced the antec with a 500 watt enermax already so it wasn't that.
I just played games for a couple hours with no crash. Maybe the fan helped and it just took it a little while to cool down the chipset, but I haven't played close to that long recently without it crashing.
Well I was running a cpu burn in utility and the computer wasn't crashing and I was thinking to myself that the symptoms seemeda lot like a video card that was overclocked too far or overheating. I looked inside the case, touched the north bridge heatsink.....and burnt my finger. It's one of...
I ran another couple hours of a different memtest program and still no errors. I guess next will try a cpu intensive program like prime95 or something and see if that causes problems.
