So how much of a difference does contrast make?

Im going to use my screen at 140cd/m2, maximum, probably a bit lower. Im curious, have you measured the contrast of the fs2333 yourself? cause all sources i find put the calibrated contrast of that monitor around 750-800:1.

So how much of a difference does contrast make?

thanks for the answer! Yeah, im aware that there can be variation within the same model range, depending on your specific copy, thats unfortunately out of my control though, so im just focusing on the numbers that do exist out there, hopefully they can give me a general view of the monitors. So how much of a difference does contrast make?

Im deciding between a couple different screens, and one of the parameters that im looking at is contrast, and by that i mean the measured contrast you get in reviews, not the inflated numbers provided by manufacturers. Some of the other factors like responsiveness, input lag, screen uniformity...

    Asus PB248Q

I too am torn between this screen and the ev2436. I purchased the prad review, which was basically glowing. 99% coverage of rgb, contrast over 1100:1, low response times and input lag, good greyscale and shadow detail. Uniformity wasnt perfect, but was more than acceptable they on their copy. Im...

    Eizo EV2436 for gaming?

Have you tried gaming with your screen? Yeah ive read that the "enchanced" overdrive on the ev2436 was pretty low on overshoots, and it reduces response times by roughly 25% which is a lot, so id like to have that on.

    Eizo EV2436 for gaming?

Thank you very much HU. Your review was very helpful, im starting to lean towards the 2436w. Right now im sitting on a Dell 2209wa which im very pleased with. Its an IPS screen too and ive had it for around 3 years now. I havent noticed any problems with response times or input lag with this...

    Eizo EV2436 for gaming?

Been reading a lot about this display, and especially the PRAD review was pretty glowing. It seems to outdo the Foris FS2333 in everything but response times and input lag. My question is, how much of a difference can it be? I cant really say that im gonna play games all the time, and when i do...

    Eizo Foris FS2333

How good is contast and shadow detail on this screen? Ive been real tempted to get this monitor, and those two factors are the only ones that im unsure about. It seems to have around 1:800, and some other screens that im considering have around 1:1000, im not sure if thats gonna be a difference...
