if you have a claw grip, go for the g9x. if you have a palm grip, go for the g500.

i love my g9x. a little small at first but once you get used to it, one of the best most precise mouse ive used.

Might just be a faulty fan on your card. Might want to consider sending it in for RMA.

I would go with either the 6950 or the 560 Ti.
