Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
A good and cheap option is the IBM M1015 for ~60$ on ebay. It's made by LSI model 9240-8i (250$) and there is lots of info here on that card or at servethehome.
You need a pcie 8x slot available.
If you can put down a little more money (130$), IBM M5015 for the onboard cache and option for a...
I suggested IT because Deimos said "I'm not worried so much about raid". Reading fast I thought he said "I don't care for RAID" lol!
I always believed FastPath was needed for high demand RAID array. No so much for just a SSD with OS. I guess I wil have to do my own testing. :)
Flash it to IT mode (target) and use your mobo to manage RAID if need be. At least, you will be connected to pcie 8x instead of pcie 1x (marvell 9128) or two pcie lanes with (marvell 9182). Marvell 9182 is ok with only one ssd connected to it.
I'm using an IBM M1015 (LSI 9240-8i) flashed to 9211-8i-IT with my Asus Rampage III extreme X58. Same here I can't enter LSI BIOS even tho it boot successfully, then the system boot to Windows 7-64.
I'm using my mobo BIOS to setup RAID 1. I could also use LSI megaRAID Storage Manager within...
A solution would be to install a SATA controller that do SATA3 on a PCIe slot.
That is what I did recently with my Asus Rampage III extreme to have full speed out of my SATA3 HDD and SSD.
You need a PCIe 8x slot.
Look at IBM M1015 controllers. You can buy them for around 60$USD on ebay.
Going water in a few weeks, I have everything bought. I will paint interior flat black and sleeve psu. Will also cut a window.
