PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

Thank you, Cisco. Since i should have a new chip Monday, I'll try that. If not, then I'll do the RMA on the board. I don't have a magnifying glass but I will go pick one up at Frys today. I did examine the pins, I guess I just wasn't specific enough in the post. Anyway, I do appreciate all...

WOw.. OK so I did try a PSU from work and still the same thing happens. THe PSU i have right now is a Antec EA-650. Not that it matters much, but i have a i7-2600k, not an i5-2500k. I do appreciate the help guys. I did an RMA on the cpu and should get a new one Monday from them. If that...

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

Hmm OK I'll have to see if I can fork out that much cash.. I am also grabbing an extra pci-e gfx card from work and will try that, just to rule that out as well.

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

OK so I am stopping by Fry's on my way home. The following three PSU's are available at my local store. Which one would you get? http://www.frys.com/product/6494492?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG http://www.frys.com/product/6030478?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG...

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

You really think the PSu is the most likely problem? I have a 650 watt right now, and I do want to get a 850-1000w anyways because I want to get a second 6950 at some point.. Maybe I will go buy one today...

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

Hi cisco, I tried doing exactly as you say but still get a hard freeze. I removed the HS and checked the processor. It looks normal. I'll try to find a PSU to test, but I am also starting the RMA process with ASUS. Thanks for your help.

I'll post the results.. If I still can't even get into the bios, would you agree it is a hardware issue?

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

So you are saying I should move the jumper to the reset position (after unplugging everything), and then also remove the cmos battery for 30 minutes or more?

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

I mean, the only thing that changed was me changing settings in the AI suite. I feel like that was the cause, but if clearing the bios doesn't work then I probably did damage to something..

PC stopped working - ASUS P8P67 LE with 2600K CPU

No just a green light down near where the cmos reset pin is. I don't have another gfx card but I'll see if I can find a PSU to try.. Just seems like odd timing that the psu would die right at the moment I diecided to reboot. I still think it was the damn AI Suite.. I just hope it didn't fry...
