jerb thats kinda hard to tell because the G.SKILL you mentioned is DDR500 and the OCZ is DDR400. The gskill would be faster, but if you are using an AMD you would need to overclock in order to get everything out of the ram. If you don't overclock the DDR500 will not go as fast as its...
Ok sounds good guys. I don't know where I saw the review but Im sure I could find it again if I wanted.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get this board with a venice 3500+
I just read a review about it and it said that due to the layout of the board they weren't able to put on any heatsink to the CPU and had to go with the stock. Is this true or was this just an old review and they had oversized heatsinks?
I'm thinking of getting this board so any input would...
yeah lol that wont be for a little while since I'm still thinking and researching hardware...also it costs money :p Its always fun and easy to find all the parts you want but funding is another task!
OK thanks a lot man you helped out a lot. I going to stick with the DDR500 2GB kit that I was thinking of. It has 3-4-3-8 timings but supposedly can be easily oc'd
Alright that makes sense. If I did get the DDR500 and overclocked my 3500+ would I get everything out of the ram? Or would it be a better bang for the buck to just go with DDR400? Sorry for all the questions, I don't know much about memory and this is helping a lot.
hmmm so it would be possible to used as DDR500 if the processor/mobo were to be overclocked? Or would it just be a waste of money until it is supported?
I was thinking of using it with a AMD 3500+
This may sound like a very noob question, well thats probably because it is. I was wondering if you put DDR500 (PC-4000) memory in with a mobo thats "DDR standard" is DDR400 (PC-3200) will there be any problems? Or will the mobo recognize the faster memory?
