Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yes, this is true, and I believe that during that date (Nov. 2017) LG provided new LG43UD79 monitors with the new pwm frequency of 480 hz. So I assume that you don’t have to run the software in order to update it to the new frequency, and that 480hz is already install to newer monitors.
LG...
A quick reappraisal of the monitor after five months of every day use. I have zero problems as it concerns firmware [software] update. Connected with my computer with the display port equipped by LG, and with a usb 3 type c cable (both on the monitor and on the computer - missing from the set, I...
PWM in this monitor do not create the short of artifacts that appears in the PWM test of these You Tube video. I made the same pwm test to this monitor, to a Viewsonic vp2770 led (PLS –that is IPS Samsung panel) and to a Benq BL3200Pt (AMVA), and I cannot tell any difference between the three...
I contact with LG support but they seemed uninformed about the latest firmware update. My impression -without making any test- is that now, after updating, the monitor is less bothersome/annoying to the eyes. The firmware is detected automatically by onscreen control software. This is the...
I didn’t have to update it because it already have the latest firmware. [Rev03]
But I confirm that with usb-c to usb-c cable (I buy one for 14 euros) not only you can successfully activate the 2 usb ports, but you can also update the firmware via the on screen control. See in this thread p. 9...
Hello to all
After a lot of thought I bought the LG 43UD79-B (from Amazon.it, for 670 euro shipping incl.). All in all, it is a good or very good monitor considering its price. Quick impressions. The panel is relative uniform, if we consider its size. There is a slight shadow in the left...
Hi Christal: Thank you for this observation. This is the reason why I ask the owners of this monitor to verify if they facing any eye-strain/headaches or other pwm implementation related problems with their units. I understand that this kind of problems are not affected all users in the same...
Hello to all

Dear Friends
Having upgrade a week ago my 4 years monitor Samsung 215T to the newer Samsung 245T I decided to share with you some preliminary and subjective impressions of my new monitor. I emphasize the word subjective because I’ am not capable of doing sophisticated tests.
I understand...
Well, it is difficult to prove something that is in the air. It is the way Prads people express when they test an Eizo monitor. Nobody says that Eizos monitors are not high quality: this has not to do so much with the test but with the language they used to describe their findings. I have...
Many people waiting for the Prad review of this monitor. Prad.de is one of the most reliable internet site, but I think is too much «eizo friendly» site - in contrast with hardforum users who is more “nec friendly” types. Having a Samsung PVA panel from 2007 (Samsung 215T) I am very...
My impression is that S-PVA monitors are, in general, more appropriate for texts. It is important that you be able to keep brightness down, in order to protect your eyes, and at the same time, obtain decent contrast, for achieving crisp and clear text. My experience with an old S-PVA panel (21"...
IPS has no text issues. I have owned various types of screens and my NEC 2490 has among the best text I have seen. Clean sharp, easy on the eyes We will need to wait for more reports to find out how text is on the US410
Thank you Snowdog for your answer. I hope that Dell U2410 have a...
Dear Friends,
I take the liberty to address to you as a reader of hardforum but not an expert in display technology. I spend lots of hours in front of a display working mainly in office work. I browse also to the internet and occasionally watching films I am not a gamer. I use a Samsung 215Tw...
