Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yes blame the pirates... It couldn't possibly be that consoles have an easier learning curve and cheaper cost of entry than PC gaming could it? No, that might not play a factor in it at all.
I love PC Gaming & have no interest in purchasing a console anytime soon. I can understand...
Comcast/random cable provider & telco companies have strangle holds and "duopoly" in most areas. They both offer mediocre service & high prices. There is no real competition between them except for possibly FIOS which is slowly creeping out. Though with Verizon though you have problems where...
While some of you may think that you're not going to go over the 250GB limit, it's probably not a month to month thing. Most people probably wouldn't, but it's going to be those "odd" months where you decide to try out 5 linux distros, the new MMORPGs that were released over the last month &...
Abe's of Maine is known to be a shady vendor. Paying people for good reviews and other shifty things.(also they're not located in Maine >_> <_<). Only thing that really makes this cheaper is a $10 coupon. I'd spend the extra $10 or so & get it from someone more reputable like Amazon or NewEgg...
8MB of ram is enough for a 1920x1080@32bpp frame buffer. Of course if you need to use the shader engine and some buffers you'll need some extra ram. Heck probably 64MB would be enough if all you were going to do was HTPC decoding.
Seriously these are Netburst based 2.66Ghz Xeons. Pretty week IMO. You couldn't even try to pawn these off as low-power file server applications. It is kinda nifty as it looks like the board has a 3 segment PCI/PCI-X setup. However it looks like it requires ECC registered DIMMs. Good value if...
GET SOME CASE FANS!!!
Also you don't need 220/240mm case fans. A single 120mm exhaust fan would be of great help. Just get something in there.
My 8800GT idles @ 45C in my X-QPACK. I run it at 50% fan. 75% when it hits 75C & %100 if it hits 85C. Rarely does it go above 70C when playing...
We've entered a new Era. 1GB is a norm, 2GB is good, 4GB is excellent. Pretty soon this will flip flop. Just like in the past, 8MB will become 8GB, 16MB, 16GB. Heh. Seems extreme now, but I'd imagine in 10yrs we'll all be sporting 256GB.
First graphics card was some 256K ISA deal on our 386... This was back in 95/96, bro & I were behind the times. It was really our first computer ever. Though the card did have some acceleration, when my friend who lived down the street also got a 386 we compared cards & ours ran Raptor: Call of...
