    ok speedfan and coretemp both see the idle cpu temp at 39c, all other monitoring software says 70c, the spec on the phenom chips states thermal shutdown at 62c, at 70c i would have let the magical blue smoke out.     coretemp shows the cpu idle at 39c but their website states that on amd cpu's it doesn't actually read the temperature from the cpu, rather from a register on the cpu, should i trust this reading that it provides?

    i did check the seating of the heatsink, it is seated properly, well at least well enough to pretty well evenly spread my arctic silver 5, in linux i use lmsensors along with gnome monitoring utilities, in windows i use asus probe, and well the bios i assume just takes a reading off the cpu's...
