Finished FF7 Intermission DLC. Was good enough and probably one of the DLCs that should’ve been DLC as incorporating it in main game would’ve been bad.
It deserves review bomb due to lack of credits same as Forza needs to be review bombed.
Good thing with this one is that they lend you the car so you can at least complete the SP parts without difficulty unlike Forza which requires you to play even the most idiotic races to be able to afford...
Most of this stuff is disposable. 1200-1500$ display that lasts over 3 years is good enough for me. That's 500$ a year for a hobby that brings me much joy. Still cheaper than many other hobbies people have.
Given I sit 2-3 feet away, I don't have any issues of brightness or colors. QD OLEDs are typically higher in saturation and that is evident here as well but there are enough options to adjust it.
FF7 Crisis Core. Solid game. 8/10. It’s PSP roots were evident and I would’ve been pissed off to pay the full price. However, picked this up on discount and it was fine for a 10 hour run. Good to have some prelude to what happens in FF7 games.
So I have had this for over a week and some change and this is the monitor to beat. Amazing colors, vibrant and detailed. No text fringing I can see. 240 Hz. Only issue is VRR flicker on grey backgrounds and loading screens (doesn't happen with grey in game). Not sure what will be the fix but...
That's great - my character runs like flash. I don't mind and skipping dialog that is boring is a good thing. I am only level 7 so if this uncapped framerate makes me finish the game faster that's awesome.
P.S. I fixed the FOV.
Tried to play Evil West. The game is caught between trying to be a good shooter and RPG. A fallacy most games fall into and ruin the gameplay in the process. Also I am usually not that disgusted by blood soaked backdrops but the game has it everywhere plus enemy design really is uninspired and...
Now trying my hand at Crisis Core FF7 on PS5. Downloading Quarry on XSX. Also continue to play COD MW3 MP on this spanking OLED. Forbidden West also here and there.
Also got some 20 games downloaded on PC on GP but none of them really interest me at this time.
Any better ideas for games on...
Not sure how much brightness is required but I am doing just fine with the PG32UCDM. For my use case it is best I can get. I just hope ASUS puts out a firmware to reduce VRR flicker in menus. It is a bit absurd that this still exists on Samsung panels.
