    I decided to upgrade. Bought an nvidia 570. And guess what... same exact problem. The fps issue is definitely not a gpu issue. I think I'll format and reinstall windows, unless you people have a better idea. Does this this mean it could be a psu problem by the way?

    I tried 10.10e. The problem didn't disappear. I've contacted the place I bought the gpu from. I'll send it back to them on Monday and they'll take a look at it. By the way, is it possible to still use the pc without a gpu? I tried it once, but I didn't get a picture. Aren't all motherboards...

    Which driver are you using? I get the dips no matter what driver I use. I've tried 10.9, 10.10, 10.11, 11.1 and 10.5. Except with the 11.1, gpu usage dropped to 0% a couple of times... Aren't they being uninstalled correctly or something?

    Ok so I've had this problem before. In the beginning of the year. I got completely random fps dips in any game I played. For example, I played a game of starcraft 2 and had a constant 60-70 fps. Then suddenly it dropps to 10-15 and stays there for around 10 seconds. Then it goes back to normal...
