Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
It may look a little ghetto, but try using some tie wraps (zip ties, or whatever you call them) daisy chained up to the top of the case to relieve the stress off of the board caused by the cpu cooler and see if that stops the freezing.
I own this board and haven't had any issues, granted I used...
See if they would get you a second 6850 ;) If they aren't willing to do that, I would go for the 1090T. I'm very satisfied with mine :) I had mine OCed to 3.9 on air, and I'm now water at 4.2 stable working on getting to 4.3...
Theres also an option in I believe the CPU Configuration on that board that allows you to disable/enable cores. If you can't find those options I'll look when I get home from work.
I appreciate the feedback! This was my first WC loop and thought it would be helpful to have that in there if I ever need to drain the loop (which I'm doing sometime in the next week to put in a 120.3 rad). I've been debating on taking it out because after having it there I'm starting to not...
I just picked up a 3rd 23 monitor and am replacing my 5870 with a 6950 (that I intend to flash) because I intend to do crossfire and eyefinity down the road (not to far down the road).
From what I heard and read, scaling is still an issue with Cypress.
As long as you enjoy is all that matters right :D
I thought it would be pretty cool to be able to have an eyefinity setup with 3D monitors. Not quite sure how that would work, but hey thats for AMD and nVidia to sort out :D
To my eyes, vsync looks worse. It seemed really choppy in BC2 and CSS. I don't really know how to explain it, it may have just been my eyes playing tricks on me but I know one thing is for sure I enjoy those games a lot more with vsync off.
They are right, its for draining the loop. I'm open to suggestions on other ways I can accomplish that (thinking about removing it all together when I set up my second loop).
I saw that you were looking for a 5870.
I have a Sapphire HD5870 I am looking to sell. Make me an offer on it if you are interested :)
Was going to send PM but don't have a high enough post count yet :(
