    In a retail world this is sometimes the best approach. Who knows where you will be working next week and this stuff goes away. And I hope this isn't the shift in their pricing model. These are typically the $120 chip in the Winter/Summer deals so maybe this midstream pricing is a blip.

    It's been mentioned but the ASRock boards seem to be highly rated. I have a Z97 ASRock board and have been really happy with it. I have an Asus H97 board that doesn't want to play nicely with Windows 10, however. Which one are you leaning towards?

    In my initial non-expert opinion I didn't really have anything to say on this because my boxes are in another room where it is cooler and not a lot of foot traffic in the house. Even then they are in a white box server so the fans never even let their noise get through during setup on the bench...
