That was the most annoying thing about the Phillips monitor.....that constant handshake issue at boot up. Sometimes I just wanted to check something really quick on my PC. But nooooo...I had to wait for the damn monitor to sort out its display.
I ended up buying a new LG 43" monitor. I'm extremely happy with the purchase. I have one of their flat screen TV's hanging on my wall that I have never had any issues with. I will never buy another Phillips brand monitor.
I use Chase for my different CC. I have no idea where you would order parts....maybe directly from Phillips? I have abandoned this monitor, and in my opinion Phillips failed miserably. I will not purchase one of their monitors ever again. For the price they charged this should have lasted...
UPDATE: I decided against shipping my monitor out to get fixed. As it turns out my credit card company will only extent the manufacturers warranty if their warranty is three years or less.....the Phillips warranty is four years. So, I decided to open it up and see what was going on...
They emailed me back and this is what they said. By the way, I called my credit card company and they extend my warranty by 12 months past the factory warranty. So I may pursue the repair option.
"The 4 years warranty on the monitor has expired. If you want to explore out of warranty...
I bought mine in November of 2015 so it's out of warranty. I did contact Phillips and they had me send them the photo I posted above, as well as a description of the issue, and proof of purchase. We will see what they can do for me.
It was literally 24 hours from the time the dark areas showed up and it went completely blank. So mine went from perfect operating condition to dead in 24 hours.
I also own this monitor and just started having the issue where there are dark areas across the screen. Very disappointing. UPDATE: Today my screen started getting darker and then all at once went completly dark. My expensive four year old 4k monitor is dead.
I use imaging software, and it comes in sooooo handy in situations like this. When I installed Vista, I activated it, and then did an image of my clean install, and stored it on my other hard drive. Anytime I want to wipe the disk and reload, it can be done in a matter of minutes, and it is...
I am running Vista ultimate, and using Rivatuner with my Nvidia 8800 GTS. I have Rivatuner set up to show stats during game play. However, I cannot get these stats to show when playing BF 2142. Using the bundled games that came with Vista as a test, the stats show fine when running any of them...
Ok cool, that's what I figured. Thanks for the reply.
By the way, should I be changing anything else after adjusting the RAM? I mean I know it is a small/safe adjustment, and it is running at its advertised stock specs, but thought I would check.
I want to keep things running stock here!
Well, I installed CPU-Z, and the settings were at 5 5 5 18. They are supposed to be 5 5 5 12. I had read a review on newegg about this RAM, and that it will default at 5 5 5 18 so your system will boot for the first time. I guess they were right.
So, I went into the bios and manually set the...
Hi everyone! A friend of mine just told me about the site. Ok, I built a new system awhile back, and everything is running good. I have only made a few adjustments in the bios, but nothing extreme. I have left everything at "Auto" at this point. Here are my system specs:
MSI P6N SLI Platinum...
