Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I got the 4930k with a Gene IV and I'm facing a very similar issue, the BIOS won't flash to any CAP version using the USB flashback method. I flash it to 1404 (ROM), I also flash the ROM-to-CAP converter successfully, but then anything newer (with CAP) doesn't flash. I also get the 00 code.
If an overclocked GTX680 can beat an overclocked 7970 by 15-20% or more and sells at about the same price as an 7970 then I will be abit dissapointed and feel bad for buying an 7970 too early and thus paying a huge price premium for it. If on the other hand the GTX680 has a big price difference...
Yeh the scores the OP posted are correct for an 7970 on heaven.
Just a reminder: Heaven uses only about 300-400 MB of VRAM therefore it is indeed not fully stressing a 7970 but given a good comparison of what a pair of 5850's vs a 7970 will do in actual mainstream games. Both 2x5850 and 7970...
Yes it's possible to have only GPU drivers without CCC and all the other useless stuff that comes in the AMD installation package. I personally recommend to everyone NOT to use CCC unless they have Crossfire cards. CCC does nothing on its own so you dont need it if you are not used to tweak...
yeah lol that made me rush to download the drivers right as i writing this. I was waiting the WHQL version cause i cba to updade the drivers in 10 days again. Weird that these improvements are not advertised by AMD on their "features" for the new 12.12 for 7900 series.
It is true that when I...
"Display driver has stopped working" is a nightmare. There can be tons of things that cause it. My friend with a GTX280 called me today cause he suddenly got this problem when logging into WoW. Just like that, yesterday it was fine and today it was not working anymore. This is simply cause...
I've got a stock voltage of 1.112v which runs at 1000/1425 and I've tried to downvolt to 1.075v using MSI AB but everytime after booting the PC my voltage is 1.093v. This difference between these voltages made a 1-2c difference at 60% fans speed under load when testing furmark and the same in...
I think you posted on the wrong thread and in fact this post is an attempt to comment at several different topics which have nothing to do with a 7970 in any way :P
I got the M60 mouse a few days ago since the laser of my RAT7 stopped working totally and therefore I had to replace it. I was quite dissapointed from the performance of the RAT7 that lasted only 1 year and 2 months. It's quality of build material and the feel of the mouse were great, though...
That can't be true because the ASIC rating is a specification made by AMD and the people who make GPU-Z simply claim that they found a way to decode this.
The thing is, that this ASIC numbers most certainly have large safety margins to avoid errors in the whole proccess of rating the card and...
on My XFX R7970 BEDD with ASIC 77.7% and stock voltage 1.112v I have managed to be stable at clocks 1000/1425 with voltage 1.056v which is near to the supposed 100% ASIC. In fact I didnt even have to experiment with it, I straightly went down from default voltage to 1.056v and it worked (using...
Well today I tried to undervolt my card to 1.075v (from 1.112v) with and both 925/1375 and 1000/1425 and tested with Furmark v1.9.2 and fans manual 60%. I only 1 degree lower on core temp and 1 degree lower in VRM, which could even be due to lower ambient temps. Seems like these cards don't...
