Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

The latency impact makes perfect sense as well. And that is a huge win for the 5000 series that the extra/improved logic can bring it down even with the improved visual quality. While it's hard to measure on youtube, my takeaway from other comments is the quality improvements in the transformer...

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

I'm sure it does. It's like CPU overclocking. It may be fine in games, but if you use heavy AVX instructions it would fail as it uses a lot more power and logic.

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

Seems I was right. From the Techpowerup 5090 review..."...The best thing? DLSS Transformers is available not only on GeForce 50, but on all GeForce RTX cards with Tensor Cores! While it comes with a roughly 10% performance hit compared to CNN, I would never go back to CNN." Obviously that 10%...

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

Yeah lets see. Just for the record, they did not say 'it's best played on blackwell'. They said 'using the new model is the best way to play on blackwell' But yes let's hope DLSS4 will be as fast (or faster) as DLSS3 on 4000 _with_ higher fidelity.

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

It’s just not clear to me that is with enhanced qualify/model on 4000. I would think they would have said in the video it would be the preferred way to play on both Blackwell and Ada. And they didn’t. They did mention it was computationally more intensive and the preferred way to play on...

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

Yes exactly. That the one I referred to above. So I’m pretty sure the phrase ‘4000 gets everything but MFG’ should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially if it’s slower than DLSS3 on the older gen. But we will know next week

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

Watching the latest digital foundry interview with Nvidia they said that the new model is the preferred way to play on _blackwell_. My take away is that there will be a penalty of DLSS4/transformer on 4000 vs DLSS3. Which imo is fair if it’s more computational intensive.

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

It will be interesting for sure. I would think Nvidia would have no issues with improving DLLS fidelity with a new model, but at a perf cost on older cards. With my 4090 I wouldnt mind a 10% perf reduction in certain titles if the quality was better (and I could still choose the old model). Much...

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

I could swear I heard them say (or I read) that transformer model would perform better on the newer cards. But yes they would obviously not say if it performs worse than today on the older ones. I'm expecting it to, but lets see.

Will 4000 actually be slower than before with the new transformer model?

I hadn't seen this mentioned before but things seem to be divided opinion wise like this: a) 4000 series will get all the new nice DLSS features b) Except frame-gen c) So if you don't care about MFG, then the raster uplift is not worth it per se I have a feeling that the new transformer model...

Doesn't change that many of them don't work at the advertised speeds. Especially longer than 2m. Just shopping for 8k doesn't help if they don't work at 4k@120. I had to shop for a 10k cable at 2m. That was after trying 3 other '8k' cables with all bells and whistles in their spec.

Probably right. Should have said 'tested' up to certain speeds.

Yeah just put .26 on as well after manual download from the uk. Seems to fix all my issues with gsync from the looks of it. On 3090.

The black flashes is your cable I would guess. Had the same. I tried 3...had to find a high quality and no longer than 2m (cable certified for 10k at 2m and below). I'm sure if you spend a lot you can go longer, but it seems hdmi2.1 is rather picky. At least with the 30xx. What is interesting...

Yeah I believe I had some scaling turned on. Set it to 'no scaling' in the control panel and better at 3840 now.
