Why You *Should* Buy a TN Panel

I've bought 226CW and trust me it has amazing colours, good blacks and almost no backlight bleeding. If it weren't for the TERRIBLE viewing angles it would be almost as good (or just as good considering the responce time) as PVA panels.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Finally someone who understands what I'm saying. My grudge isn't against Samsung it's against every corporation that is screwing the consumers. I have 500 freaking euros to spent and I can't find a complete monitor. And what's worse my choices are limited since gateway sceptre and dell are...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Jesus freaking christ Samsung, that's low. They released the monitor with a great panel to get good impressions on the press and forums and now they sell the new models with an inferior cheaper panel to cut costs. Problem is I want to buy the monitor from an online shop and I can't check if it's...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

The reason 720p doesn't look good at all is the reason I'm whining about in this thread. First the monitor upscales the image and then it distorts the aspect ratio which is disastrous for the image quality. Actually the 16:9 -> 16:10 stretching does most of the damage for console gaming...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Actually that's why I'm "ranting" because I want to buy the monitor. If I didn't care about it I wouldn't make the thread. I don't understand your dedication in defending the honor of the company.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Purists? Try to play 4:3 PC games stretched in 16:10 and then tell me I'm a purist. Thing is the 1:1 pixel mapping/keep aspect ratio function doesn't even cost the company a single dime. Most of the the time it's lazyness -or ever worse- company tactics that create this problem. Knowing some...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I'm not saying the monitor sucks I'm saying Samsung sucks and every monitor manufacturer that doesn't even put a keep aspect ratio function or at least a 16:9 option. Seriously is it that hard to put a keep aspect ratio function? It's not even costly all they have to do is program the damn...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Gateway and Sceptre haven't released their monitors in most parts of Europe. Which sucks for me and for them because I would have bought one of their 22" monitors. Oh well I guess I'll give up buy the Samsung and eventually buy an HDTV too. Seriously though, Samsung sucks. It's 2007 for god's...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

I second this question. After all this time I hope a gamer got this monitor. Does it at least have a keep aspect ratio function or a 16:9 setting? Please help.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Seems like the monitor informs you of the resolution of the input signal not the resolution it stretches the image to. Expected. No aspect ratio, no 1:1 pixel mapping. It was a given it'll look like crap. Thanks a lot Samsung, now I still can't decide. I mean c'mon would it be that difficult...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Thank you. Well that sucks. Not only it doesn't have 1:1 pixel mapping it also doesn't keep the aspect ratio. Can you check if at least there's an option for 16:9? I have no problem with stretching but not respecting the aspect ratio of the signal is just inexcusable for me.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

OMG a person with a next-gen console and 226BW. Man I have so many things to ask. First of all do you see any small black bars in the top and bottom of the screen when you set your X360 at 720p?(which would mean that the monitor keeps the aspect ratio of the signal (16:9) instead of just...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

What about picture quality on games and video? Which one did you find better?

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

No ugly stretching means that the monitor has some sort of automatic "keep aspect ratio" function? Please reply to this I really want to know.
