Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Starcraft 2 is awesome. Havent been an RTS fan since the old C&C days but this game rocks. Just finished the single player campaign on hard mode. Best RTS ive played since Warcraft 3 TFT
Ordinary people wont be.. but [H]ard people will be :) but my guess is that for starters BD wont hit 5ghz on air, and the deficit will be more than 10%. Just a hunch.
Except anyone who buys a 2600k is obviously planning on OCing way past the standard Turbo Boost provided, and seeing as alot of 2600ks hit 5ghz also, SB retains its theoretical 10% IPC lead in your scenario. Plus there's no guarantee BD will OC past or even reach 4.5ghz yet, and you are pretty...
Lol yeah it's just ridiculous to think that anyone considering spending $1000 on a Tri SLI / Xfire enthusiast rig is going to leave their CPU at stock clocks, especially 3.3ghz.
Uh yeah duhhhh coz your CPU limited! Lol
A guy on overclockers hit 31.5MB/s 4k reads on a single 64gb c300 on SATA 2

Another guy in the same thread hit 33.13MB/s 4k reads on his 2 c300's in RAID 0...
If you can still play the games you like at settings you enjoy then there is no need to upgrade just because your card is x generations old.
That being said the 295GTX is a power hungry beast @ almost 300w TDP iirc. Upgrading to a 6950 and unlocking it to a 6970 would cut your power consumption...
I broke off a cap/resistor whatever it is, that size on my old x1900xt as soon as i bought it, trying to install a AC Acceleron heatsink fan. It worked flawlessly for years, even overclocked nicely (mightve overclocked better if i didnt damage it but we'll never know), up until i sold my old...
Wow, we already know more about Ivy Bridge than we do about Bulldozer :P I kid i kid, but seriously AMD, throw us a freakin bone here.
On topic 10-20% improvement over SB sounds about the same leap from C2Q to i7 or i7 to SB.
Yep, ill probably wait to see some benchmarks from reputable sites before making my decision. Not having TRIM won't bother me as im already using a RAID 0 setup and my SSDs dont even have garbage collection so my performance does go to shit after a few months, meaning i have to do a backup...
Im in a similar situation, except im considering either dual 64gb's or one 128gb c400. Just waiting to see how well they scale in raid 0, and how said scaling equates to real world performance before i decide to give up trim or not.
It seems like were putting 4k random performance up on a pedestal as the be all end all of everyday SSD performance, much like we did with CPU clock speed in the past. With all the millions of dollars Crucial, Intel, Marvell etc invest in R & D do people really think that they're going to take a...
