Is this Inspiron E1705 sufficient for gaming?

I only do Dell laptops, thanks for the links though. I'm not taking this thing to class or anything, the only time it will be unplugged is when I turn it off and take it to school (and vice versa), so yea, the weight isn't an issue, and I have plenty desk space at home and at the dorm. And...

After searching around notebookforums.com I found a legit seller who's providing me with the following system: Dell XPS M1710 Intel® Core™ Duo 2 processor T7600(2.33GHz/667Mhz) Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, English Windows Vista Home Premium coupon included 17 inch...

Is this Inspiron E1705 sufficient for gaming?

Yea, the main thing that had me leaning toward the XPS was the option for the better CPU (T7600, @ 2.33gb) Sims 2 is CPU intensive so I wanted the "best" CPU I could get. Is the 7600 that much better than the 7400?

Is this Inspiron E1705 sufficient for gaming?

I plan to use this laptop for the next 2-3 years ( until whenever the Sims 3 comes out, basically lol) After building the exact same specs on each and comparing side by side, I'd be paying $1000 more if I get the XPS for: LED lights, media direct, greater resolution, and a better video card...

    FX 57 or X2 4800?

I'm buying an FX-57 this weekend for a machine I purely game on. The x24800+ is the way to go for you though, as you do minimal gaming. You will be very happy with it.

If not OC'ing, go for the fastet CPU, right?

Once again, with TS2 it's all about the CPU & RAM, this game does not benefit from a great vid card...at all. That's nice to hear about the 4200+, I'm getting a X2 4800+ for my laptop, but for the desktop I want single core.

I've spoken with VM tech support/sales reps probably everyday this week. They know their shit and are very helpful.

Not building my own, not overclocking. Ever.

If not OC'ing, go for the fastet CPU, right?

You guys, I'm buying from Velocity Micro! My choices are limited. The 7900GT is the standard card it comes with! haha Besides, I don't upgrade/overclock and all that like yall do, therefore I want these high end parts since I won't get another system for like 3 years. Edit: I'm going to...

Oh, sorry to get all huffy then. haha I'll think about OC'ing if I'm not satisfied with performance, but I'm sure I will be.
