Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
And, even though I have just set this to ON, I will still need to manually offline the pool, remove the drive, then set the pool back to online status, yes?
*Edit*
For future drives, I mean.
Cantalup, thanks for the heads up. I'll look into the validity of running unbuffered ECC RAM in this box and pick some up. I'd hate for this to happen again.
Also, when building the new pool, I saw two options "AUTOEXPAND" and "AUTOREPLACE" which are both set to off. I believe these were set...
Just an update for you guys. I rebuilt the pool, and all is looking online and healthy.
pool: storage
state: ONLINE
scan: none requested
config:
NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM CAP Product
storage ONLINE 0 0 0
raidz2-0 ONLINE 0 0...
Well, after backing up the important stuff and going through that list of suggestions from staticlag, the problem still exists. I feel maybe the only course of action now is to just blow the pool away and make a new one with the currently loaded drives.
Would you guys agree that this would be...
Just a quick browse on that motherboard model, I don't see any mention of ECC RAM.
Hardware via prtdiag, Memory via prtconf:
Memory size: 3839 Megabytes
System Configuration: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-MA78LM-S2H
BIOS Configuration: Award Software International, Inc. F6 02/26/2010...
That is definitely good to know and not something that was told to me. I'll verify tonight whether or not that RAM is ECC and if not I'll look into replacing with ECC.
I have gotten lax with my backing up because this thing has been rock solid for about two years. Shame on me, I guess. I...
Ok. I have a spare 2TB drive sitting around. When I get home from work I'll start transferring off all of the things I care most about, make sure that that data is safe, then attempt what you've posted.
Thanks, guys, for all of your help so far.
So, I can create a new zfs filesystem on the same box and have it just move the files from one filesystem to another?
Now I have to find a way to back up all of that data before I attempt that.

Ok. After the resilver, it's still at the original state of this post. The old drive is still there. :(

I unplugged the drive, and when I ran "sudo zpool offline storage c3t4d0" it said no valid replicas. I replaced the drive and tried the same command I got the same message. I did an online version of that command and it basically put it back in and is now resilvering. Still same overall...
