DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

Hello! :) I can only assume that having the motherboard and gpu on the same side is to make the case as compatible as possible for both air- and water-cooling. Not sure if doing an AIO- / watercooling-focused case would be economically viable, but I would much prefer to have a tall version of...

    Overclocking 4770k Results

Hey guys, I have my new 4770k here and been trying around a bit to see where I can get (new to Intel after a long while with AMD). My stock VIN is 1.024, stock cache is 1.09v. So far, I get the feeling that my CPU might need more cache voltage for a 1:1 ratio compared to the core voltage...

Switch from AMD to Intel, do I need to reinstall windows?

Hey, so two days in with the old OS (Win 8 Pro x64) after a change from Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z and AMD Fx-8350 to Asus Maximus VI Formula and Intel 4770K. All worked just fine! Just read below in detail: I deleted AMD Overdrive and AMD Driver set beforehand, Set Bios (for the return) to...

    4770k heat issue

I just tested the 4770K with the stock cooler, everything stock. My room's about 21C, so not exactly warm. Prime95 FFT - about 100C (between 98C and 101C), throttling back to 3.4GHz, sometimes 3.3Ghz. So, basically this CPU does throttle so much under load that it does not achieve its regular...

    4770k heat issue

I was just on two chats with Intel. They were just saying, yeah, under 100C it's fine. You shouldn't overclock it to 3.9GHz (???) - I asked him it this was Sales or Technical Support. So basically they say if I watercool (ok, it's closed-loop, but still) up to 85C is fine under load for...

    4770k heat issue

Running OOCT Linpack now - again that is at stock settings in UEFI - already at 75-83C on the cores... I will try 4GHz after this, 4.2GHz 1.2v earlier crashed almost instantly! Also, I don't think it is my cooling - my Kraken X60 with MX4 TIM, it kept my old FX-8350 @4.8GHz and also my test...

    4770k heat issue

Hey, I am completely new to Intel and overclocking this thing. My last CPU was FX-8350 / 9590. So, no I got this 4770K here, stock / auto bios (Asus Maximus VI Formula) and I am like WTF. I was like, ok, let's see if we can get 4.6GHz, set it there, and 1.2volts, and boom, no boot. OK, maybe...

9590 all the speed now -$500

Thanks, I didn't know what I was doing lol :) Also the 9590 has already moved on to another owner lol I just did some testing, I go to 5.2GHz on all 8 cores, but that was kinda too much even for my Kraken X60 in push/pull. Overall, my 8350 clocks very nicely at 4.8GHz at 1.45v, in offset mode...

Switch from AMD to Intel, do I need to reinstall windows?

Haha, I just did a google search and got to this page ;) - How about that? :) Well, I will swap my FX-8350 and Crosshair V Formula-Z (board is going to RMA since I have weird glitches / freezing issues I just cannot get rid of) for a Asus Maximus VI Formula and 4770K tomorrow. My OS is Windows...

9590 all the speed now -$500

I just ordered a 9590 from Aria here in the UK with a special online deal priced at GBP299.99. Will see how much difference it makes to my OC'd 8350, which currently runs nicely at similar speeds and with all the green stuff enabled to save on my energy bill. I guess there won't be much...

    AMD FX 8350 OC 5Ghz

Hi, been a while. For whom it may concern ;) I exchanged my AMD FX-8350 (former 1308PGN) to another one, now 1302PGN. Well, while technically older, is the new cpu much much better to OC than the previous one. 4.8 prime FFT stable is dead simple (vcore, cpu llc). 4.9 is a bit more tricky...

    AMD FX 8350 OC 5Ghz

With 12-12-12-34 I tried NB a little higher, but as I though before, 2.7ish seems to be the point where I can't go further (my settings are wrong... ?!?). I get it somewhat stable with 1.4v on CPU/NB but as far as I read 1.3/1.35v and no further. Nowhere getting near your 3Ghz...

    AMD FX 8350 OC 5Ghz

Thanks, I keep that in mind and try it out when I find some more time, had enough of tweaking for now... waiting for new case / water. Mostly core #8 bugs me out tbh. I got to 2400 with CL12 but I found with the higher latency the increase in performance is not much at all that's why I left it...

    AMD FX 8350 OC 5Ghz

Not too sure if this if helpful at all... but I'll post it as a final result for now (due to lack of time I can't do more testing): http://valid.canardpc.com/2803305 CPU: 4719MHz, 19.5 x 242, 1.43125vcore, CPU/NB 1.30, RAM 2266MHz 1.575v 10-11-11-28-45 HT 2671MHz NB 2671MHz CPU Load...
