As it stands (based on this review alone) the price to performance ratio for the 6970 is solid... If the 10.12 brings that kind of an increase, than the 6970 will be a few percentage points behind the 580GTX on average (again based on this review) which IMO will be a pure win for AMD based...

Beats the 580GTX (barely) in Crysis... Performance between 570 and 580 at a price at $370 isn't bad at all... Maybe we will see better results with 10.12?

    ATI HD 6970 actual benchmarks

Still base on those numbers (if they are correct) the 6970 is 25% faster than 570GTX on average, which makes it around +5% faster than a 580GTX...

So did Gibbo claim that 2900xt was better than the 8800GTX while testing both cards? I don't know what his claims were in the past, but he works for OCUK and they have the cards to sell and has been testing them on his own...

    6970 3dmark11 score

He also said this earlier... Isn't the 580GTX about 30% faster than the 5870? How can Cayman be 30% faster than a 5870 but 20% slower than a 580GTX? And if hes going by benchmarks, I wouldn't be surprised if Cayman's numbers in synthetic benchmarks aren't that great, considering the...

    SemiAccurate gets some GTX480 scores

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe metal respins (A revisions) do not improve yields but only address slight performance tweaks and bugs. Silicon respins (B revisions) can help increase yields, but also takes a significant amount of time to complete (around 6 months). If the 512SP part...
