    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

I just checked and the backlight is locked at 100% for me as well. Lowering it below 100% caused it to glitch out, just as NoxTek had said.

Looking for 40" 4K (PWM Free) display

Are you using Mac? I'm using the Zen U400 which has a BGR layout and do not notice any of this fuzzy or fringed effect on text on Windows 10. Everything looks just fine to me.

    HDMI question

60p is 60hz. You do need an HDMI 2.0 cable for 4k at 60hz, and you would also need a video card with HDMI 2.0 out. Looking at the list of PCs in your sig, none of them have video cards that support HDMI 2.0. If I remember correctly, from Nvidia the 960 and above support 2.0, as do the new...

    Wasabi Mango ZEN U430

While this is the first I have seen of the U430, I got a Zen U400 about two weeks ago (there's a thread below). The Zen series is basically more TV than monitor (my U400 has a TV tuner, so I would imagine this does too), but is perfectly useable as a monitor. Looking at the specs of the U430 on...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

I run it at 4:4:4 8-bit at 60 hz. In the Nvidia control panel, I can only select 10-bit at 4:4:4 and 30hz. There is no 10-bit 4:2:0 at 60hz option, though if there were, I would still stick with 8-bit 4:4:4 for better text legibility. As to your second question, I don't really know, but I...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

I have not heard any sounds at all when changing resolutions or turning it on. There is a blue power led (that turns red when the display is off), though it is not annoying at all, as it is located just below the lower-right corner of the bezel. From a normal viewing angle (eyes just above the...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

With the monitor's default setting, I see slight flickering on 3, and with the brightness lowered to around 25, I notice flickering on both 1 and 3. All other boxes appeared normal.

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

Other than using it for my PC, I've only briefly connected a PS4 to it to test bluray playback, but I would keep it in PC mode for any device. In TV mode it always overscans slightly regardless of the other settings. Also, just for reference, the 'DLC' setting controls dynamic contrast, and the...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

Just did the PWM test with the brightness lowered and could not detect any flickering. As to your second question, I do not think the gloss level would be a problem on a multi-monitor setup, but I'm not certain. This is my only standalone monitor at the moment, but to try to get an idea of how...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

Sorry to hear that, hope the return process goes smoothly. Here's a link to a few pics I took: 1. Not sure if they are the same, but they are both Samsung VA panels from what I have read. 2. Haven't noticed any PWM issues. It seems to be flicker-free. If there is some way to test this I can...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

I've ran several games on it at 1080p, and it looks very good. Maybe not quite as sharp as on a native 1080p display, but still very good. Haven't tried anything at 1440 yet.

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

Just hooked up my PS4 to it and tried out a few blurays. Fortunately, there was no judder at 24hz. In Windows, I still get judder when the display is set at 24hz, but I got around that issue by turning on 'smooth motion' in JRiver's settings and leaving the display at 60hz.

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

The Zen actually has a TV tuner. I just hooked it up to an antenna earlier to test.

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

Looking at it straight on from about 25-30 inches away, the corners appear a bit darker, but this is only noticeable to me with solid color images. In normal use, it is not noticeable at all. Even with the solid color test images, it is fairly minor and does not bother me. Regarding the viewing...

    Wasabi Mango Zen U400

I have not noticed any burn-in. I have had the display on for several hours with the Windows task bar on the entire time, and I did not see any burn-in or image retention after switching to a full-screen application.
