definitely doesn't take mine that long to resume from sleeping, but I don't think I've tried timing it from turning power button on to off. if it's 7 seconds to "wake up", i'd definitely return it.
in case any w2207 owners are curious... I decided to try and fix the sagging right side issue myself instead of sending it back. why risk a new problem, when this seemed fixable, right?
so how do you fix it?
1. lay the monitor, screen down, on a soft flat service.
2. Pop off the...
i wish i could... but it only pivots clockwise (when going from landscape to portrait)... and I need it to rotate slightly counter-clockwise in order to counter the sag.
wow, I know I'm picky, but has anybody else noticed this monitor sits at a slight angle due to the pivot feature? my right side sits just a bit lower than the left.
I really like how easy it is to raise and lower the monitor, but the angle annoys me.
Anyone find a good solution for...
did some searching. lots of stuff on ebay. would you mind sharing your model# so I know what works well with the DVI on the HP monitor? and are you using it for HDTV/ATSC tuner or using it as analog tuner? thanks!
I have the HP w2207h with HDMI input instead of DVI... but what digitial TV tuner box are you using with DVI out? really want to get one, if I can find it inexpensive.
thanks!
P.S. I wouldn't do the upgrade you are mentioning. the Samsung does not have adjustable height stand, which I...
ok, please ignore my suggestion of 50/80 for brightness and contrast. WAY too bright for use in anything other than a very bright environment.
I've now switched and re-calibrated (gamma using Mac "calibration" by eye-ball) to using brightness at ZERO, and contrast still at 80.
I tried...
FYI... I finally got off the fence and bought one of these. Picked up the HP w2207h direct from HP. It was $310 shipped using their employee pricing discount.
It was NOT GOOD AT ALL WITH DEFAULT SETTINGS running off my Mac Mini via DVI to HDMI cable, but after tweaking, I'm happy with this...
same decision I am trying to make! I also want the bigger font, and struggle with lack of 1200 pixel height on the HDTV.
We could debate quality here all day, and some of the feature differences are obvious (USB hub on LCD, speakers and tuner on the HDTV) so here's some different logic...
this monitor is in another thread as well, but you mentioned Costco has it "online only"
where is the link to it at costco.com? I can't seem to find it. I only see the 720p version.
thanks!
text on the SP2208WFP is horrible. no joke HORRIBLE out of the box. It gets way better if you crop the RGB colors, each to about 60-70. But I wasn't happy about having to do so many adjustments just to get it acceptable. I returned it, and like you, I am leaning towards the HP w2207h. It will...
thanks for the response. Glad to hear you don't hear and any buzz.
The toshiba is definitely at top of my list too. actually still deciding between this and the Dell 2707. basically same price when the dell is on sale. I like the increased resolution on the Dell. i find 1200 to be the...
