Skyrim AMD CrossFireX Performance and IQ Review @ [H]

I read that Skyrim isn't Large Address Aware (LAA). Wouldn't this make the 2GB memory of the Radeons less of a factor? There is a user patch that converts the Skyrim executable to LAA, but the latest Skyrim patch broke this. I wonder if running the LAA version would show some performance gains...

    AMD Radeon 6990+6970 CrossFireX / "TriFire" Review @ [H]

What other perspective would be more important to the end user besides price and performance? Heat, slot requirements and noise might affect your purchasing decisions, points which have been addressed by the article in passing. And yet you continually push the dual-gpu versus single-gpu...

PowerColor confirms 69xx faster than GTX580

That isn't where the 43% comes from. Say Card A gets 100 fps. Card B is 75% faster so it gets 1.75*100=175 fps. However, you can't say that Card A is 75% slower. Its performance, in fact, is (100/175)*100%=57.1% of Card B's performance. Therefore, it is 100%-57.1%=42.9% slower than Card B...

PowerColor confirms 69xx faster than GTX580

That 50% higher than a 6870 might be a best case scenario anyway. I'd say GTX580 and 6970 performance would be a few percent within each other. Let's just hope the price will be good.

PowerColor confirms 69xx faster than GTX580

Yes, I agree that your math is correct. But even using the correct math, your 75% faster claim is still nowhere near the truth. Where are your links that prove this? The previous link you posted shows it's around 40-45% faster on average, depending on the game and resolution.

Asus 5850 or 6850 or 6870 for new system build

If you're not planning on upgrading that 20" monitor to a bigger one, you should probably just get the cheapest one. Those three cards won't even get taxed at the resolution you're playing at.

    Fermi comparison across reviews

And like I said, even though game performance is the only thing that matters to YOU, others look at performance/watt or performance/dollar, too. Just because it's a non-factor to you doesn't mean it's not important to everyone else. Fermi isn't a bad card. But neither is it a smashing...

    Fermi comparison across reviews

How is this different from ignoring all the problems with Fermi (heat, power usage, etc.)? While these may not matter to you, it does matter to a lot of people. So basically, ignore the #'s that make Fermi look good, and you are an ATI fanboi. But ignore the problems that make Fermi look...

Gigabyte Aurora 570 front panel audio noise

I tried using the front panel audio connector with my earphones today. Sad to say, it seems to be picking up a lot of noise. I keep on hearing a high-pitched sound and when I move a window around, I hear a buzzing sound. Muting the volume doesn't remove the noise so I think it's a problem with...

    AF in Witcher

Hi guys! I've been messing around with AF settings in The Witcher. I first tried the in-game AF at 16x. Textures looked horrible at this setting. Then I tried forcing AF using CCC. I checked the box "Use application settings" in the CCC AF tab and set it to 16x. The textures drastically...
