Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Not siding with HP on this one. Sorry. But this is a slippery slope. If HP can not decide to not fix a laptop under warranty unless the warranty spells it out. Like when water is spilled on it. As noted about Dell, HP does have different levels of warranty up to the ADP, Accidental Damage...
"As has been said it depends on how they interpret lawful"
Moe than "interpret" it. The government will define it. So its "unlawful" to criticize Obama.
"Monopolies are never good for consumers"
So you are for breaking up our largest monopoly ever imagined? No wait, that IS the federal government so I guess you'll have to live with your inconsistency.
"So, essentially corporate fascism is fine, the prospect of any government control is BAAAD"
I think you need to look up the definition of fascism before you continue to make yourself look stupid.
Just how do you suppose the government will enforce "neutrality" without censorship and where do you think the government will use as a gauge to define and determine what "neutral" looks like?
This is a dangerous move to our freedom and liberty on the government's part.
For some of us with blu-ray drives, custom cases, etc., it would be very nice to know the actual dimensions of these power supplies. Given the depth of my LG blu-ray drive I can not use just any power supply in my case.
Disks came today. Was looking at installing them and as the process unfolded I decided to wait. Bascially the disks are a system restore set of disk. The install tells you that you will have to reinstall software, etc., and that some software is not Vista compatible.
Well the next time I...
The header wasn't really hard to reach either, it was just too far back for some case front panel plugs.
For those of us who need to use back panel adapters for things like firewire and USB ports, FINALLY a layout that doesn't cause us problems.
Not all of us use/need front panel jacks...
I know this is older thread but the time has opened up for the HP updates and I wanted to bring this thread up to date. I have just ordered the update, 2/1/07, and will see how it goes.
Jim
You indicated you had trouble with the F6 option with the driver disk but it went fine after d/l the drivers from MSI. Okay, how did you do this then? Burn them to a seperate CD? Put them on a floppy? How did you make this work?
Jim
I have a laptop that qualifies and I was curious as to how this will work. I chatted with HP on-line support and here are the links they provided for information.
