Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I originally got it when CPU rendering was the only option in 2017, so the cores were necessary. Of course now it's all on the GPU. I don't do any gaming.
So I added another cable to spread the load. I tried running a benchmark to see if it had any effect on performance but didn't see any difference. I appreciate the suggestions though, it gives me peace of mind I should be safe with the power draw.
I updated to the latest Nvidia driver, but when...
It's semi-modular, so there's one 12V 8pin hardwired out of the PSU. That's the yellow one that's daisychained to 2 connectors. I guess people are saying I should run a 3rd separate cable.
Recently I got a used MSI 4090 Gaming Trio for my Threadripper 1950x system with a 1050W PSU, and I just went through the craziest 24 hours where the system had a complete meltdown and then recovered.
At first I wasn't able to boot into Windows. I couldn't even get into safe mode or run any...
I have a threadripper system on an Asrock Taichi x399 board that has 8 ram slots.
Originally I had 4 sticks of 8GB ddr-3000 CL15-15-15-35
Just upgraded to 4 sticks of 16GB ddr4-3000 CL16-18-18-38
I was planning on just swapping and selling the old sticks, but figured what the hell and just...
Thanks for the tip, I think I might try it as well.
I'm also interested in splicing the tubing. At this point I have a couple extra radiators, wondering if it's possible to combine them in a loop to get better cooling.
I did the Liqtech II today. Not as bad, but still same signs of bacteria and corrosion. The blobby stuff really makes you wonder if this is some scifi thing where you die of a horrible disease from touching it:
I did the same routine and cleaned everything off. The cold plate doesn't look too...
Oh man, I just made a post about tearing down my liqtech unit over here:

I have an unopened Liqtech II and wondering if replacing the fluid might prevent the build-up/corrosion issue...
Whelp, so I did it. I did a teardown of the Liqtech TR4 that I replaced after failed cooling performance on my threadripper:
I figure I would do my best to clean it to see if it's salvageable at all. I used an old watercolor brush & alcohol on the copper fins they were so narrow:
The main...
I rolled back to version 2.00 from the x399 Taichi support page:
https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X399 Taichi/index.asp#BIOS
There was only an option to switch to 4* x4 mode on the 4th slot:
I updated back to the latest version (3.50) and it only offers x4x4x4x4 mode for the x16 slots:
Where...
I have an Asrock x399 Taichi with a Threadripper 1950x and I'm interested in trying to run 2 gpu's at x8/x8 on 1 x16 pcie slot.
Currently the bios only has an option to split the x16 slot into x4x4x4x4 mode. I'm actually trying to put in a feature request with them to support x8x8 mode on the...
