Thank you Tony! You were absolutely right about giving the AP181 a second chance.
Previously I had set the mainboard chassis fan control to the minimum value (level 1 in Asrock Z77 Pro4-M bios, no idea what actual voltage that corresponds to). With this setting, I got 700rpm with the speed...
I feel the same way. Even at 700 rpm, the 180mm Silverstone fan is just way too loud for my taste.
From what I read, there Noisblocker will soon release a 180mm fan in its Bionic Loop series. That thing should be much more quite...
Check the manual! It refers to the first slot as "PCIe 2.0 x16/8_1" and to the second as "PCIe 2.0 x8_2" and recomends: "In single VGA mode, use the PCIe 2.0 x16/8_1 for a PCI Express x16 graphics card to get better perfomance."
Cooler and graphics card are indeed dangerously close to each other. However, I would advise against switching PCI slots. The second slot is only x8, and with a GTX580 this might actually have a slight impact on perfomance. Also it would probably reduce the airflow that the GPU gets from the...
I just hope there will be a silver version as well. I love the look of the tj08 in silver, but the design of the tj08e seems to be miles ahead of its predecessor.
The Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS is a bit less expensive and got even better scores at DV. However, I've also seen some less favourable reviews of the B2712HDS and the Asus VE78Q appears to have a much better contrast ratio. Has anyone been able to compare both of them hands on?
Thanks for the info! Making the case that small is a terrible decision by Lian Li, in my opinion. Most heat sinks with 120 mm fans are 158 - 163 mm tall. So just adding a few millimeters would have made this case so much more useful. Anyone know a good 120 mm heat sink that would fit this case?
I don't think the design is that bad. Considering the size of the intake fan compared to the exhaust fan, there will be some serious positive pressure inside the case. Especially if you mount the PSU intake facing upwards. This will cause a constant stream of air exiting the case through the PCI...
Pretty sure it will work. You should note, however, that the second PCIe 16x slot only works at 8x speed. I doubt you will see any difference on a GTX465 though...
Too bad, I doubt it will fit solely based on pure awesomeness...
Pretty sure the Grand Kama won't fit either. The Kabuto, on the other hand, could be a winner. Though it might come pretty close to the PCIe slot on a H55N. I'd like to find a tall top down cooler, which doesn't leave much free...
Hmm... has anyone tried fitting a Scythe Orochi in this neat little case? With the huge 180mm fan blowing down on it, this giant monstrosity might finally be able to show its full potential.
I doubt it would fit, but squeezing such a huge thing into a tight enclosure like this is a very...
Thanks, LED backlighting is acually not very high on my priority list. I just found a pretty good and detailed review (german) of the LG W2442PA. I think I might be going for that one!
Thanks! Will stands like that fit on every monitor? You think this one would fit too?
Any opinions on the Samsung Synchmaster BX2440X? It's not 2ms, but I guess if there's little ghosting, I could live with that...
