Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The HAF932 case seems to be a classic.
I found this usefull : http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/701036-Project-Quadteron
Edit : I just had a little trouble with a longer PSU (an AX1200) interfering with an internal USB port that I had to trim a bit.
I also found that the 8...
I wasn't able to get it vertical (with respect to the picture, not the actual vertical direction). It could have been horizontal if I cut or fold some of the aluminum sheets intersecting the RAM.
View of the entire board :
A small update.
Before I tried playing with the fan speed, I ordered the Zalman ZM-NBF47 passive cooler.
The thing looked so cooled I couldn't resist using it on the motherboard. I managed removing the stock heatsink without removing the board from the case : I very carefully cut the head...
I made short tests of 15 minutes each (running linear algebra which is the typical duty of that machine) :
6000 rpm (stock fan) : 53 C
4000 rpm (stock fan with one of the ULNB from the Noctuas, in fact just a serial resistor) : 56 C
fan removed : 66 C (may not be stabilized yet, stopped the...
Really ? Hum, what I'm reading from the field "SR5690 Temp" after applying this ?
Interesting !
Now I just need to find a heatsink that fits in this very crowded part of the board and also the motivation to remove the board from the case... won't be easy, the fit is very tight.
Thanks for the inputs.
Nothing to measure surface temperature here.
I may just try and see what the sensors report. Those little heat sinks aren't expensive. I also realize that the side and front huge fans of the HAF 932 are blowing right on the northbridge... so I think I'll be fine.
Hi all
I cannot stand anymore the noise of the fan cooling the northbridge of my H8QGI+-F motherboard !
I'm looking for a replacement. The setup is in a HAF 932 case. No graphic card. It's used full load must of the time, without overclocking. It's quiet thanks to the Noctuas cooling the...
Oh, I missed the -g34 when I played with EEPROG_DEV !
Anyway, the latest version of your scripts did the job :
eeprog-spd-dump-g34 all
Checking for id head sed od tr seq dd find awk lspci dmidecode modprobe i2cset eeprog-tear ...done.
Discovering i2c bus ...
WARNING: multiple matching...
The dump script was actually confused. I followed your instructions here : http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=521&t=138490&start=250#p224230
In my case, EEPROG_DEV=/dev/i2c-1 eeprog-spd-dump all produced 4 files, while EEPROG_DEV=/dev/i2c-2 eeprog-spd-dump all produced none.

Thanks for the quick answers.
I'm not in front of the machine right now. I'll post the SPDs on monday. However, I've already posted the terminal output here : http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=521&t=138490&start=250#p227676
IPMI was disabled.
For the moment I'm using the...
I got the same motherboard (actually the H8QGi+-F) and almost the same memory sticks (actually the 8 Gb version). I'm able to get the spd and also to modify it using tear's utilities, but the reflashing isn't successfull. Could it be due to my different CPUs (6344) or my OS (Centos 7) or even a...
