Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
96 GB [2 x (6 x 8GB)] Registered ECC DDR3 Ram runs Win7/Linux fine in Supermicro X8DTN+ with 2 X5650's
48 GB [2 x (3 x 8GB)], same sticks, boots fine in SR-2 with BCLK 170 and 2 L5640 ES 2.26 GHz Eng Sample hex xeons
However the 96 GB will only POST after clearing SR-2 CMOS, and, if...
OMG??? The Apple-issue was sorted out after the first post.
The FRUSTRATION is that 48 GB boots fine, time after time after time, but that
96 GB will POST ONLY after clearing CMOS and if subsequent boot into Linux then it also sees 96GB
but that EVERY subsequent reboot FAILS to even POST...
Results from more tests:
The ANNOYING thing is that the SR-2 will recognize ALL 96 GB Ram and POST after clearing the CMOS (by pressing the reset switch)
Surely this means there is some BIOS setting which DOES IN FACT WORK for the full 96GB?
Further evidence that the SR-2 sees the full...
The following result may be of interest:
The 96GB: 2 x [OWC 48GB (6 x 8GB) DDR3 ECC PC10600] boots fine in Supermicro X8DTN+
Single set 48GB (6 x 8GB) boots fine in SR-2 with BCLK 170
BUT 96 GB will not POST using same settings, or even with all default settings (BLCK 133 etc) and after...
I have been running 48GB G. Skill standard DDR3 1600MHz RAM happily in my SR-2 for more than a year now.
But I need more RAM, 96GB would be great, and I know this will have to be Registered ECC and maybe I will have to go with my old X8DTN+ SuperMicro Motherboard
I recently noticed a good...
I have two PC's, each with RAID 0 capable of 600 MB/s sustained read rate with large (e.g. 10GB) files.
In effect, these two PCs form a RAID 10 system (mirrored RAID 0).
File transfers between the two systems easily saturate Gbit Ethernet.
Even with sustained (and verified) and saturated...

Was your 200 BLCK obtained
with 1GB, 2GB or 4GB DIMMS? and,
How many DIMMS (total)?
Also have Gskill 1333 mem w/ 2x L5640s ES in SR-2 using A49 Bios
... BUT ...
Max BCLK=170 (using EXACTLY same settings)
Using 12 x 4 GB DIMMS (48 GB)
Perhaps this is reason for difference?
Can you please let us know what size DIMMs you are using to get BCLK=200 with this Gskill memory?
Thanks for that

The puppies will get some severe testing cranking 24/7 on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
Multiple cores are great for this.

Anyhow, air cooling is comfortable, 17 x 190...
Many more tests have occurred since original post.
Bios was reset multiple times by removing the CMOS battery, but same C7 POST error
Also ran each CPU alone, with appropriate disable jumper, but same C7 POST error
Paranoia checking for bent LGA1366 pins
Performed SAME TESTS placing...
Purchased two X5650's for supermicro dual xeon mobo
but then discovered EVGA SR-2 and then the ES L5640 hoot.
Now have two ES L5640's but need to burn new Bios.
The X5650's will be sold, but only after I burn the Bios for ES L5640's
Only using a single X5650 to burn the Bios so the...
