I'm using the CH throttle with a MS force feedback 2 and I haven't had any issues. I was able to use the in-game keybinding menu to set it up, you might give it a shot again and see if it works.
I would like to know if the 7950 bios could be flashed like some of these people are saying. If so you could go that route and save $100. Either way they are both good cards though, especially for single display.

Ok, other than the problems with hit detection and knifing, I think they need to increase the recharge rate of the defibrillators so that a medic cant run around in circles and revive people. Because of the bad bullet hit detection, this is possible.

Its definitely worth it for using word and excel, I like to snap each running at the same time to both sides of the screen when im workin on stuff. And with that much screen space, its awesome.
I think the 5870 will last pretty long for you, especially if you dont plan on doing an eyefinity setup. The graphics in PC games have just not gotten that much more demanding, and the 5870 handles everything nicely.
