Is this only a SSD replacement? If so, buying a SSD greater than 1 TB is going to cost more than the console did. If it is a hard drive, then it will be a reasonable move.
Graphics market share is not helping AMD at all. The Graphics and Computing Division lost $70 million in first quarter of 2016 and $81 million in second. AMD must be getting market share by simply selling at a loss or the computing side of the division is totally trashing any improved graphics...
Is there a list of game benchmark improvements on the Fury X with the new driver? Everyone expected GREAT things from the driver update for the Fury X.
Yeah, it was VERY confusing. The earliest news had the Fury X named 390X. Then AMD finally posted a very different set of names for the different rebrands and created the Fury name (pulled from ATI Fury Rage from beaucoup years ago in 1999 I would imagine).
Some poor guy just bought one of...
The Fury X water cooled price is going to be interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion that NVidia knew exactly what it was doing when it released the GTX980Ti so close to AMD's Fury X launch and at what price to put on the card and how fast to clock it.
The rumor has been around for a while...
Can you run any sort of GPU test that shows what the GPU core temperature is when running at 100%? Having the fans running at full speed means that the core temperatures may be running hot. With the massive heatsinks and the pair of fans, that is serious cooling going on there, but is it really...
Why on Earth is AMD hyping these cards so heavily, especially the Fury? If they do not live up to the press, AMD will basically be conceding the discrete graphics card market to NVidia for at least another year. Last year, Maxwell just stomped all over AMD (even with the GTX970 fiasco) with the...
Why am I posting this when in a couple of days we will have cards reviewed? Heh.
The AMD R9 390 SEEMS to be an upgraded R9 290 (first sold September 25th, 2013) with the same number of shaders. The GPU gets bumped from about 900 to 1,000MHz. Finally, larger and faster GDDR5: from 4GB to 8GB...
Here is a list of the US MSRP prices for the various AMD cards that will be released in the next few days:
Enthusiast R9 390X 8GB Enhanced Hawaii XT $389
Enthusiast R9 390 8GB Enhanced Hawaii Pro $329
Performance R9 380 4GB Tonga Pro $225
Performance R9 380 2GB Tonga Pro...
Heh, I swore at ASUS about the P8P67 not sleeping with my OCZ Vertex2 SSD drive installed. Well, I went back to my old i7 computer and guess what, no sleep THERE either! Both mobos would eventually BSOD on waking. So either OCZ, Intel, or MS need to step up to the plate to fix it. Nothing to do...
