Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
From my understanding it will not be useable until Ivy Bridge chips are available. He might upgrade the graphics card once or twice before he upgrades his mobo platform.
Thanks for the recommendations on the NIC, I will read up on that. I should have mentioned we already have a case to use, I have edited the original post to reflect that.
I agree that the warranty issue is kinda crappy, but is it not worth the risk for the pcie 3.0 capability down the road?
He really wants the PCIe 3.0, since he only does an entire overhaul every 4-6 years. It seemed the most future proof option, though I was not a fan of the warranty. Is it not as big a deal as we are making it?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the comparison! I wish I had seen something like this when I was searching for the block I was to use. I ended up going with the Heatkiller because I got a good deal on it, but have not regretted it one bit. I had to mount mine sideways so it would not contact the capacitors (?)...
Tom's hardware had an article about the amount of memory one might need. (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/memory-module-upgrade,2264.html) They concluded that most users will not need more than 3 GB of ram. They said there are certainly situations or users that could need 6 or more, but...
Hey guys, I think this is the best place for this post so here it goes.
I recently watercooled my CPU with the help of parts suggested here and have now caught the bug. It seems I am now compelled to watercool my GPU, but want to do it for the best cost I can. Below are a list of the parts I...
The fan noise matters while I am gone because my girl studies in the same room as my computer is in. If it was just me, id run the fans full tilt all the time.
Thanks for the responses. I feel a little more comfortable with things now. Seems like I am worrying more than necessary.
That is one major fan controller! Can it do laundry?:D
