Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The price difference is actually only about $35. Irrelevant given the total cost of E5 systems IMHO. As a general rule, I count any system power savings and actually double it to account for PSU inefficiencies as well as decreases in needed cooling capacity. I would think the low voltage chip...
Sorry for the double post. This seemed more like a processor question after I initially posted.
I'm trying to determine whether the E5-2630v3 or E5-2618Lv3 would be better for running ESXi.
E5-2630v3 [8 core, 2.4ghz (3.2ghz max turbo 2 cores), 20MB, 85w]
E5-2618Lv3 [8 core, 2.3ghz (3.4ghz...
Has anyone been able to verify whether turbo boost actually works and is beneficial on ESXi? Given a moderately loaded ESXi host (less than 40% CPU utilization), will the Xeon E5-2600 v3 series chips actually raise their clock speed similar to how turbo boost works on in Windows on a desktop?

I'm using a 16GB kit (2x 8GB) from Crucial. DDR3, Unbuffered, ECC, 1.35v, CL=11.

I've only been able to find it at Provantage ($160 shipped).
I got the Intel i210 working in ESXi 5.1. I installed a 1x PCIe Intel Pro/1000 and left it in while getting everything online. Once you have ESXi installed, you'll need to grab the iGB .vib from VMWare and copy it to your datastore. Then install the VMWare vSphere command line utility (VCLI)...
Not to change the subject, but has anyone looked into power usage on the X9SAE series boards?
I just got a P3 "Kill a Watt" in today and since my X9SAE-V hasn't yet been put into a case I've been looking at the power draw of various components.

EnderW, I see you're running 1.35v ram (CT51272BD160B). Have you been able to verify that your ram is actually running at 1.35v or is it running at 1.5v? I'm looking to upgrade my ram to 4x CT51272BD160B and get rid of the 2x 1.5v 1333 sticks I currently have. Does anyone have a bios version...
Thanks for the new link nismohks, that worked great.
Has anyone found a free program to access the iAMT 9 features? I've read that VNC Viewer Pro works with it, but I'm really not thrilling with having to spend another $99 just to use this feature. Any suggestions?
I've been looking all over for an answer to this question and haven't found anything. I'm sure someone has this controller in a Windows box and allows Windows to spin-down the drives.
