CONFIRMED - this actually does work. I'd recommend following the outlined instructions with the cookie sheet, tin foil, and 4 balls of tin foil to hold up the PCB. Excellent work guys, you just saved me having to buy a replacment laptop!

Amazingly, the results were obtained with Intel's STOCK cooler. I'm looking forward to getting the chip on water to see what it can really do (temps are around 90c :cool: ).
Almost a year ago I got a new 6800 card, and with a bit of widening of the holes in the video card (and a couple spare pieces of metal to try and fashion a bracket from) I was able to mount the Radeon-based Maze4 on it to watercool the hell out of it. I was glad my drilling didn't wax the card...
I actually did have the pump submerged and running at the bottom of the tank for awhile, but it gets quite warm and I found the water's cooler when I leave the pump outside.
