I'm currently running at 1680*1050 and it pushes those pixels like a trooper. In fact for a few days I had a 24" running at 1980*1200 and was surprised that there was almost no difference at all from the former resolution.

Okay, the Gateway's win is revoked for the moment. After playing WoW I'm now seeing the "light/dark" flicker that others are reporting. Also when I jump my toon there's this weird, almost fluid light/dark anomaly that's freaking me out a bit. Probably just the same issue as the flickering...

Just returned from exchanging my FPD2275W for the FPD2485W. So far there's no noticeable bleeding, no dead pixels, nothing bad at all. In fact it's rather stunning after lowering the brightness and red level so my eyes would stop bleeding, hehe. I'll be reporting again after a few days of...

The Gateway FPD2485W uses a direct backlight system (CCFLs directly behind the glass), these are not subject to such issues. I wasn't aware that the 24 used a better panel - thank you for the info. I might have to plunk down the extra $$$ and exchange for the larger model.

What I'm now wondering, in light of the fact that this screen is rather remarkable (IMO) aside from the backlight bleed at top & bottom, is whether anyone's going to have the cojones to take 'er apart and try to fix the issue? :D I think I'm just going to keep returning it until I get one...

As I and a couple others posted here, there does seem to be a bleed issue on the Gateway FPD2275W. I haven't yet decided whether it's too irritating to keep the screen, because it's otherwise rather pleasing.
