yeah that's what i was guessing. slow cpu + slow ram + slow usb 1.0 = no burn

My aunt has a P2-600 MHZ comp with 128 megs of ram. She has not been able to burn a DVD on her 8x external Sony DVD burner. Is it even possible with that slow of a computer?

the reason i didn't want to do dvi to hdmi is because right now i have 2 monitors hooked up to my computer and if i wanted to watch a movie on my HDTV i'd have to unplug my second monitor then replug it in after i'm done watching the movie. it's kind of a hassle so i wanted to see if i could...

well the reason i ask is because monoprice has a component to dvi-i cable. i suppose i could go my computer -> component to dvi cable -> hdmi converter -> tv

sigh, i had both connected, guess i got lucky it didn't blow up. btw i think i fixed the i/o error by turning off the nvidia firewall. it corrupts your d/ls. POS!

i just setup my new system today. problem is that my chaintech av-710 pci soundcard shows up as a unknown device. i tried to install the drivers but it says it can't find the card. it seems plugged in well enough in my system. any idea what's up? also this is a huge problem i keep getting...
